Cup of Grace has many avenues in which to help families in need. We provide diapers, gas vouchers, clothing, groceries, and other assistance to families who find themselves in emergent or unexpected need. We aim to help those by providing direction to resources, networking with other programs or individuals, and providing assistance when we have the resources to do so. Over the course of the past year, we have seen an increased need for grocery and diaper assistance. Since the beginning, we have endeavored to feed people and bring the community together. Cup of Grace would like to introduce you to our new Volunteer Coordinator, Vanessa Keck. She wants you to know that, first and foremost, she is so grateful to Jesus for His love and what He has done for her, and she wants to share His love with others. Vanessa lives in Spirit Lake East with her husband and two kiddos, a 7th-grade boy and a 5th-grade girl. They are homeschooling this year due to 2020 events, which has opened up more opportunities to serve with Cup of Grace. They first started volunteering with Cup of Grace in 2019 at the community meals, which morphed into helping deliver groceries and meals this past spring during quarantine. As 2020 finally comes to an end (can I have an “Amen”?), our Christmas Program is gearing up to assist local families with food and gift cards so they can be blessed and celebrate the season. Each family will receive a bag of groceries containing ham or turkey and all the ‘fixins’ for a delicious Christmas dinner. They will also receive a Walmart gift card for each child in the family so the parents can personally shop for just the right gift. To apply, fill out this form. Annie Sundstrom is the new Program Director for the School Closet Program with Cup of Grace. She is a Registered Dental Hygienist (RDH), graduate student, wife, and mother. She has volunteered with several non-profit organizations over the years including volunteering as a sports coach, mentor, and dental provider. Annie belongs to several additional organizations/associations such as a Philanthropic Education Organization (PEO) and the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA).  The Program Director is a new position with the School Closet Program. As Program Director she will be working directly with closet managers and school counselors. She will be visiting school closets on a rotational basis in addition to monthly checks to ensure closets are maintained, needs are being met, and concerns are being addressed.
